The Opstal hosts wedding receptions for 36-400 people. Choose from several outdoor ceremony spaces –- on lawns next to pool, in the forest, floating deck on dam, or in an amphitheatre in the mountain, all with breath-taking views and scenery.

We ask that the entire retreat be fully booked during an event so that the music and revelry can continue with no curfew. Our group sizes are very flexible, and our space works well for small and large events. The setting is perfect for a weekend event with loads of on-site activities; hiking, swimming pool, garden games and chilling-out places and comfortable areas for communal meals around the fireplaces.

The kitchen is state-of-the-art and can accommodate food preparation for large groups. We have cutlery, crockery and glasses for meals as well as pots, kettles, braai tools and anything you might require for preparing your meals. Large gas hobs, electric oven, fridges to add to the list ;-) The veranda outside of kitchen includes a large fireplace and bread/pizza oven/spitbraai for alternative cooking options.

All guests can stay on-site in accommodation in our cottages and tented camps, therefore no-one needs to drive anywhere.
